Four Strikers Players Represented US Youth Futsal in Barcelona

Over winter break, four Richmond Strikers players had an experience of a lifetime in Barcelona, Spain playing with US Youth Futsal in international matches. Reese Alexander (U12 Elite) , Jenna Newman (U12 Elite), Lexi Newman (U11 Elite) and London Serafim (U12 Elite) spent eight days in Barcelona playing matches, training and immersing themselves in the city and culture.

All of the Strikers players represented the 2008 US Youth Futsal team and took on Les Corts, the Catalan National Team, Penya Esplugues Futbol Sala and CET10. In addition to games, they were able to train with FC Barcelona trainers and observe a professional FC Barcelona Futsal training. They also explored Camp Nou, the FC Barcelona stadium, and other cultural and historical sites such as Park Guell and Cathedral Barcelona!

You can see an in-depth virtual experience of their tour at the US Youth Futsal Facebook page which includes pictures, video recaps and the matches! CLICK HERE to visit.

Also, Serafim is featured in the Short Pump Sports Monthly January issue as the cover story. Check out her story in "Going International: London Serafim Invited to Display Futsal Skill in Spain” in the January Short Pump Sports Monthly.

Congratulations to all four players for their invitation to play abroad!
