Veteran Richmond Strikers coach, Steve Chapman, was named the Southeast Regional Assistant Coach of the Year award. He was recognized at the USC Annual Convention in Philadelphia in January. Chapman was given the award for his work as an assistant coach for the high school boys team at St. Christopher’s School. He was one of four coaches across the country given to be given the award.
Steve joined the Strikers in the fall of 2002, starting with the U18 boys age group. He has been with the Strikers for over 16 years and has been an influential coach for the club. Chapman has been involved the boys and girls sides and has coached from the ADP level up through U15.
In addition to the Strikers, Chapman was also the head coach for the Deep Run High School boys team and is now the head coach for the Deep Run girls.
