Strikers Say Farewell to Betsy McKeon, Welcome Chevy Bruns

After twelve years, the Strikers are sad to bid farewell to our Director of Travel Administration, Betsy McKeon. Betsy will be relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, with her family, and her last day with the Strikers will be today. Throughout her time with the Strikers, Betsy has been invaluable to the success of the club - running all aspects of the Strikers Travel Soccer Program (and working very closely with our coaches and team managers) and helping to administer Strikers Lacrosse and Field Hockey, tournaments, and Richmond United.

“The Richmond Strikers Club has been a big part of my life for over 15 years, both as a parent and as a staff member. It has been exciting to be a part of such a top level club that is continually growing and always focusing on developing young soccer players,” remarked Betsy. “I love this club and I am very thankful for the wonderful families I have met throughout the years. I am looking forward to this new adventure, but I will truly miss the Striker community.”

She added, “Thank you to the staff and all of the Striker families for making my time here so special. I know Strikers will continue to do great things, and I look forward to hearing about the club's future successes!”

To fill the Director of Travel Administration vacancy, the Strikers are pleased to announce the hiring of Chevy Bruns. Chevy is excited to be joining Richmond Strikers and knows the ins and outs of the club, as her two children, Lauren and John, are both current soccer players. Chevy worked in marketing for Capital One for ten years before deciding to stay home with her two children. She graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Biology.

Jay Howell, Executive Director of the Strikers, said, "Betsy will be missed. It’s a mutual love—Betsy loves the Strikers and we love her. Betsy is an exceptional administrator. She is razor sharp, intelligent, and has no problem keeping us all on task. We are fortunate to move strength to strength. Chevy is cut from the same cloth as Betsy, and we look forward to working with Chevy for the next 12 years!"
