Jay Howell, Executive Director of the Richmond Strikers
"The Richmond Strikers are very proud to announce Sue Murphy will be our first Girls Lacrosse Director of Coaching. Sue has 28 years of coaching experience. She has placed hundreds of players into collegiate programs as well as coached collegiately for 15 years, and worked with US National Teams for seven years. Sue's current work has been fantastic with the successful Storm Lacrosse. We look forward to Sue joining forces with Strikers Director of Lacrosse, Kendall Adkin, and bringing the best players and coaches together!"

Kendall Adkin, Director of Girls Lacrosse/ Director of Sports
"As the director of Strikers lacrosse, I am thrilled to be joining together with Storm and to be working with Sue Murphy. By working together, we will provide all players with the appropriate playing opportunities for all ages and abilities. Sue and I and the Strikers staff will provide players with endless benefits and the highest level of player development. By combining the highest level of girls lacrosse staff in our area, it will create the most elite environment in our sport."

Sue Murphy, Director of Coaching
“I am very excited for the opportunity to help lead the Strikers girls lacrosse travel teams. Special thanks to Strikers Executive Director, Jay Howell, for allowing me the opportunity to work alongside great lacrosse leaders in Kendall Adkin, Brooke Ireland, Heather Strausburg and Erica Brothers.  I am confident that all current Strikers and Storm players and families will see the amazing benefits to having us coming together to provide the best platform of player development at all ages.”

Brooke Ireland, Recruiting Advisory Board Member
"Over the past 25 years, Sue has been a coach, a colleague, and a friend of mine. We have run different club programs, coached different Division I teams, and have different coaching styles, but what has always remained consistent in us is our respect for one another and our passion for coaching. I could not be more excited for Central Virginia and our local Richmond area that Sue and I will get to continue our dedication to mentoring these young women into not only being the best athletes they can be, but also the best humans. The work that Kendall Adkin, Jay Howell, and Sue have put into making this program happen should not go unnoticed....THANK YOU! What a STRIKINGLY perfect STORM. "

Heather Strausburg, Youth Lacrosse Liaison
"I’ve had the opportunity to work with Sue in various capacities over the last 5 years including coaching recreational lacrosse, collaborating to establish a new girls Rec program in Chesterfield County as well as cheering our daughters on together from the sidelines during field hockey or lacrosse games.  Sue has always brought a positive attitude, consistent beliefs in supporting girls on and off the field and a vast knowledge of lacrosse.  I’m very excited about the opportunities that this unification of the two best travel programs in Central Virginia will give not only my daughters, but all the girls in the area.”

Erica Brothers, Director of Goalkeeping
"I absolutely love my position at Strikers working with both goalkeepers and teams ! I love having the ability to bring my knowledge from coaching at REV (MA) to the Strikers organization. I have been so impressed with Kendall Adkin's leadership and now getting the opportunity to work alongside coach Sue Murphy, as I was recruited and played Division 1 lacrosse for four amazing years with her. This merge between Storm and Strikers is going to be a powerhouse and I am honored to be part of it."
