Kendall Adkin Steps Into Richmond Strikers Director of Lacrosse Position

Richmond Strikers Lacrosse is pleased to announce that Kendall Adkin has been hired as the club’s next Director of Lacrosse. Adkin will be replacing Courtney Swan, who will be attending medical school next fall. This spring, Adkin will assume an Assistant Director role and work closely with Swan, and she will become the Director of Lacrosse upon Swan’s departure.

Swan commented, ”I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience as the Director of Lacrosse for the Richmond Strikers. I want to thank all of the players and families for immediately welcoming me into the Strikers family, and I am sad to see my time come to a close. Having the opportunity to give back to the game of lacrosse and foster the love of the sport in the Strikers members has been a truly rewarding experience. As I begin my medical school education next fall, I know the program is in great hands under the leadership of Kendall Adkin. Kendall's motivation and passion will facilitate the continued development and success of the program."

Adkin is currently the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Randolph-Macon College. She is a 2013 graduate of Lynchburg College, where she was a very successful lacrosse player, earning All-ODAC and All-State honors. She was First Team All-ODAC as a senior in 2013 after being named Second Team All-ODAC in 2011 and 2012. She was also a member of the 2012 ODAC All-Tournament Team, First Team All-State as a senior, Second Team All-State in 2012, and a team captain. She also served as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for four years. Upon graduation, Adkin spent two seasons as a Graduate Assistant and Offensive Coordinator for Lynchburg College Women’s Lacrosse.

Adkin earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Lynchburg in 2013 with a minor in Secondary Education. She received a Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership with a focus on Higher Education Leadership from Lynchburg in 2015.

“I could not be more excited and grateful for this opportunity to work for such a successful organization as well as work with such a knowledgeable and supportive group of coworkers and coaches,” said Adkin. “I am eager to build off of the strong foundation that Courtney has built during Strikers Lacrosse’s first year as a competitive club program. I look forward to getting to know all of the Striker players and families while doing my absolute best to make this a positive and successful year ahead!”

Bea Cope, Founder of Strikers Lacrosse, added, “In building a solid foundation for a lacrosse program we have always strived to provide our players the best experience and surround them with both great leaders and role models. Courtney has done a terrific job as Director and exemplifies what it means to be both a great role model and leader. I am looking forward to working closely with Kendall Adkin this spring. She has not only shown a passion for the sport but also has the experience coaching in college that will help guide the program for the future.”
