Jeff Gonos joins the Richmond Strikers Football Staff as the Director in May 2019. In addition to the Strikers, Gonos is the General Manager of Sports Reality Performance Training in Mechanicsville, VA where many of the leagues games and practices will be held inside the 50,000 sq ft indoor sports complex. Gonos has worked in various executive, coaching, scouting, and team operations roles over the past 18 years for the Austin Wranglers (Arena Football League), Amsterdam Admirals (NFLE), and the Carolina Panthers (NFL). He is excited to be a part of growing the game of football in the greater Richmond area.
Sam Rogers is a current NFL free agent from Mechanicsville, Va. Sam went to Hanover High School where he played football, basketball, ran track, and played lacrosse. Throughout his high school career, Sam earned all-district honors at Quarterback, Tight End, Linebacker, and Utility. Three times he appeared on the All-Metro team while earning offensive player of the year his senior year. He appeared on the All-Region team at two positions and earned first team All-State his senior year. He walked on at Virginia Tech and earned a scholarship in his first year. He was a four-year starter at fullback. Sam played under Frank Beamer for three years and Justin Fuente for one year. Sam was a second team Pro Football Focus All-American his senior year. Sam graduated with a bachelor’s of science in Human, Nutrition, Food, and Exercise. After attending both the Reece’s Senior Bowl and the NFL combine, Sam was drafted to Los Angeles Rams with the 206th pick in the 6th round of the NFL draft. Sam spent a year with the Rams learning under Sean McVay and also spent time with the Bills under Sean McDermott. Sam has worked with Young Life, and has helped coach at Benedictine High School and Hanover High School.
