Community Partnerships & Community Service

The Richmond Strikers are committed to supporting and giving back to the greater Richmond community in which they live and play. Throughout the year, they partner with several other local nonprofit organizations to participate in meaningful projects.

Richmond Police Athletic League

PALs vision is to be a premier organization providing opportunities through sports and education for at-risk youth. Officers helping kids become champions in life.

Every August, the Richmond Strikers invite PAL campers to come out to Striker Park for three days of soccer! We have over 100 campers and 20 Strikers members who volunteer to help this event.

UMFS is a nonprofit agency that provides a comprehensive array of programs to meet the needs of high-risk children and parents to enable them to overcome challenging circumstances and succeed. A national leader in helping children, they also proactively identify unmet social service needs throughout Virginia and develop appropriate partnerships to address them.

Through a partnership with UMFS, the Strikers participate in several events in support of UMFS' mission:

Orange Day

Strikers families and friends will spend the afternoon bringing the holidays to the UMFS campus at 3900 West Broad Street. Information on volunteering will be sent to Strikers members. Anyone with questions can contact

Score Against Hunger Food Drive
April 2015-Present

In support of Goochland County's Hunger Awareness Week, the Strikers banded together to collect non-perishable food items to be donated to and distributed by the Goochland Free Clinic & Family Services. We collected over 450 pounds of food in 2015 and are hoping for even more each year moving forward! In 2016 and 2017, the Strikers pledged to donate $1 for every pound of food donated, up to $1,000.

Richmond Strikers/GFCFS Coat Drive
Fall 2016-Present

In light of the success of our first two food drives, the Strikers decided to hold a fall Coat Drive to support the Goochland Free Clinic & Family Services Clothes Closet. Annually, the Clothes Closet serves over 822 clients, including 344 children. Strikers families donated over 450 coats, a massive turnout, in 2016!
