The 2008 VHSL boy’s soccer class
“AAA” State Champions, the Deep
Run Wildcats, have added another
stellar award to their expanding
trophy case, an NSCAA

Central Region playoffs during
three of Ownby’s years, but lost
in the semi-final’s in 2006 (to
Clover Hill, 4-3ot) and 2007 (to
Hanover, 2-1.) {*Ownby was
called into a US National Team

culminated Ownby’s senior season
(along with his nine senior
classmates,) by earning the
Central Region runner-up trophy,
then marching to the VHSL State
Championship with a 1-0 victory
over Robinson High School.
Ownby, currently a freshman at
the University of Virginia,
finished his career at DRHS with

seasons(2006-’08,) Central
Region POTY (2008,) and the
Virginia State POTY in 2008! He
